Our children range in the age from newborn to young adult. Children taking part in the festival have ranged in the numbers of 125 - 150. Our group is comprised of both interracial and transracial adoptive families. The families that have attended our festival have traveled from as far away as Saskatchewan and various locations throughout BC and the Pacific Northwest. As our numbers have increased due to the need and popularity of our festival, locations have been hard to come by. In order to meet our growing demand for families to participate we are requiring larger facilities each year and, therefore, the financial obligations have increased dramatically. Naramata Centre is a facility that has welcomed our group and has the space for growth. Historically, we have depended on our families’ personal contributions to fund all the start-up costs, including funding for guest speakers, cultural programs, deposits required, postage, proclamation t-shirts and craft supplies.
