In the past we have only been able to provide one opportunity per year for families to come together through our summer family festival. Some of the programs offered have included: cultural activities and crafts, mentoring workshops for kids, African drumming workshops, karaoke, family dance, mini-Olympics. Benefiting the transracial adoptions, we offer hair care instruction and skin care clinics. We have also provided educational reading material, through sales, for both kids and parents reflecting adoption and multicultural issues. The festival creates an outreach support through “buddy parents”.
